This year I am hosting our Thanksgiving Feast! Usually each member of the family brings a dish, this year its all me. So I am making my decor as simple as possible. Simple to me translates to elegance. By getting simple linens, ribbons and herbs (like the sage in the photo) you can create simple and beautiful table settings. We have a ton – No Really – a ton of pine cones that are dropped off by our giant pine tree in the front yard. I will be using them as props in my candle vases.
I will be making simple name plates (pictures to follow). And a fun kids table with butcher block paper and lots of crafts to keep them busy.
It is usually football at our house on Thanksgiving so I may not need that “2010 Thanksgiving Soundtrack” after all – but, Ill make one just in case!
I will be putting out our “Gathering” book for everyone to write in. A tradition we started a couple of years before my father died and now that I can look back and read his pages it means so much more! No matter your style – just remember to keep it simple so you can enjoy your company!
Remember that your family is the main focus, be Thankful for them and your decor will fall into place. Happy Thanksgiving and Thank You All for All that you do!
